2019 Annual Meeting Minutes

Deer Creek HOA Annual Meeting:

The Board would like to thank all the residents for showing up at the annual meeting and having the great discussion we did. The official minutes are below but a few highlights from the meeting.

We learned that SID 405, who in charge of streets, did a lot of work last year in our area to the tune of $250 thousand. They are also in charge of the “flashing” speed limit signs that are scattered and are moved now and then in the neighborhood. Several residents commented that they love them and they should get 5 more. Ed Fuxa gave a great report on the work of SID 405.

We learned that speed bumps are under the control of Douglas County Engineers office and rules are somewhat hard to get them but that who is in charge.

We went over what the Board of Directors stated they were trying to accomplish through 2019 and we feel we hit most of those goals, some took longer than we thought they should. Board will in 2020 try to refresh the signage into the area as one of our main projects. This includes keeping the area looking great as well.

The Board stated that we are looking at what possible changes the residents would want in the covenants. They are asked to contact a board member with changes they would like to see for discussion. Changes will require that 75% of the homeowners/lot owners will need to vote for any suggested changes and that this is difficult to reach that amount of people.

The Board of Directors for 2020 was elected and they are: Mary Barker-John Bourne-Bryan Brabec-Jim Busse-Katey Lenczowski-Marlene Schneider-Robert Trant. We will get the website updated with their contact info.

The drawing was held for 4 $50 gift cards to anyone signed up on the Deer Creek website and the winners were Buresh-Leatherman-Barker-Gregerson families. Congrats to all!

Thanks again who took their time to attend the 2019 Annual Meeting.

I would like to see no rentals at all in the DC areas – like is stated in the Villa covenants. I would also like the Board to put in strict penalties to builders that do not keep their construction sites cleaned up on a regular basis. Other upscale areas have these rules. Lastly, we spent 250k on street repairs. A lot of ware and tear happens because we have Papillion and Abes both accessing our streets on a weekly basis. I know of other areas that now pick one and require all residents to use that service. Is cuts down on 1/2 the traffic on a weekly basis. Thanks, Rich
